Daredevil Terri Rose and her cousin Lauren Palmer plan to plunge from the sky today in aid of the cancer trust set up by brave teenager Stephen Sutton.
Terri, of Edinburgh Crescent in Kirton, will take a tandem parachute jump from 15,000 feet in an event organised by Stephen, who died in May after his story got worldwide attention. Stephen, who made a tandem jump with a group of 55 in 2013, had a world record attempt on his bucket list.
That mass tandem jump, hoping to set a record for the most parachute drops in a day, is to take place next year.
Terri can’t be a part of that for a good reason - it’s the day she gets married.
She is already close to her £400 target and said: “Sky diving is something I have always wanted to do and Stephen organising it, going through all he did, is what gave me and Lauren the final push - excuse the pun.
“I have always enjoyed thrill rides at theme parks and have scuba dived too, so why not dive every way possible? All the support received so far is greatly appreciated and means so much.”
