A new scheme by bus firm Brylaine is proving to be just the ticket for an animal charity.

Up until recently, passengers have been charged a child’s fare for their four-legged companions to travel. But now the firm has reduced this to just £1 which they will donate to The Dogs Trust.

Marrianne Garbutt, marcoms and development director for Brylaine, said: “Every year we want to support a charity and accessing fare options are the most effective way of doing it.

“This year we chose a charity close to a lot of our team members’ hearts.

“Dogs Trust do an amazing job and we know it’s one were dogs who have been lost, abandoned or are unwanted can find loving homes.

“So far most people have been really happy about it and literally ‘on board’. This is just a small gift from Brylaine and, of course, our dog-loving passengers.”
