DON’T miss out on your chance to have your say on the future of Boston’s car parking charges.
Boston Borough Council’s current budget proposals include putting its fees up to make savings.
The council’s portfolio holder for the town centre, car parks and markets, Coun Derek Richmond, said the district authority has limited income opportunities and recent cuts to its core grant had meant it had to look to car park fees.
The council’s plans are out for consultation and include proposals for a 10p fee rise across all tariffs, introducing £1 evening charges, scrapping most 60p 30 minute charges, putting up coach parking to £3 a day, making the cheapest all day car park £2.50 and to start charging Blue Badge holders.
The Standard is leading a camapign against the charges and you can show your support by signing the coupon (right) and returning it to us at the Boston Standard, 5-6 Church Lane, Boston, Lincs, PE21 6ND.
The consultation comes to a close at the end of January.
