DONINGTON has won silver in the Royal Horticultural Society’s Britain in Bloom awards.
The Boston borough village was awarded silver in the large village category.
Liz Walker, chairman of Donington in Bloom, said: “Being an RHS Britain in Bloom finalist has meant so much to the people of Donington and is the culmination of six years hard work and everyone taking a pride in their community.
She added: “As a group, we have learnt a lot from RHS judges with a wealth of experience who have given us tips on how to improve areas environmentally and still maintain an attractive design. We would recommend joining the campaign to any community.”
TV gardener and presenter Rachel De Thame hosted the awards in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland.
A team of 12 RHS judges visited Donington in August and assessed against three key criteria: horticultural achievement, community participation and environmental responsibility.
