Organisers of the now-annual Boston Dragon Boat Festival have presented more than £10,000 to charity.

An event held recently at the Listers BMW showroom saw prizes awarded and announcements for next year.

The winners of this year’s race, at Witham Way Country Park, were Aarons Paddlers with the best heat time recorded. Lister Mercedes were runners up and James Jewellery in third place.

T&B Containers were the team that raised the most money through sponsorship and Guy Priestley took the individual participant who raised the most money for the third year running.

The best dressed team were Coveris Flexibles.

Money this year went to to Macmillan Cancer Care, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance, Marie Curie, Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, Boston Woods Trust, Pilgrim Heart and Lung Fund, The Samaritans, Witham Country Park, Butterfly Hospice Trust, Clic Sargeant, Spalding Special Schools Federation, Neo-Natal Unit, Ryan Smith Foundation and Alzheimer’s Society.

Next year’s event will take place on August 15, 2015.
