‘Don’t send your licence up in flames’ – is the message from Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership’s summer drink-drive campaign.

The organisation is targeting those who go to barbecues and are unhappy with just a burger and chicken leg – and decide to drink as well.

LRSP states: “When people are enjoying the summer barbecues, we ask you to make provision to travel by nominating a designated driver or pre-arranging a taxi home.”

Lincolnshire police will be conducting road side checks to arrest and prosecute those drivers who drive whilst under the influence of drink or drugs.

Checks will be carried out early morning, evening and night time.
