Earthquake felt in Boston

The Boston area is among the places where people have reported feeling an earthquake last night, according to the British Geological Society.

The epicentre of the seismic event, which measured 3.8 on the Richter scale and took place at about 10.25pm, was Oakland, in Rutland.

The British Geological Society has produced a map based on 1,400 reports received so far, including some from in and around Boston.

In 2008, the county was rocked by an earthquake of magnitude 5.3 on the Richter scale which had its epicentre near Market Rasen.
