THE head of Giles Academy, in Old Leake, has said his pupils’ A-level results this year have emphasised the ‘outstanding’ Ofsted status of Giles Academy.

As pupils celebrated the rewards of their hard work and determination head teacher Chris Walls said it had been a great year.

He said: “A new point scoring system this year makes comparison with previous years a little difficult, but we believe our students have matched last year’s outstanding performance.”

Top performing student at the school was Gemma Tuplin with a distinction* and five distinctions.
