PLANS to set up a free school in Boston town centre may soon become a reality, after an application was made to the Government for permission to provide the facility.
Boston Free School Steering Committee submitted the application to the Department for Education last week in the hope it would approve the new primary school, which aims to provide a learning environment for a large range of pupils in the Boston area.
Denzil Shepheard from the Boston Free School Steering Committee said: “As a group we have put in an enormous amount of work into preparing our application over the last six months. It is clear from our engagement with local families and the community more broadly that Boston Free School is both wanted and needed and we very much hope that our application will be approved by the Department for Education.”
Boston Free School Steering Group was one of 300 groups across the UK to receive backing from the New Schools Network in preparation for the application.
If successful, the school will open in September 2013.
