A strange request was made of a local councillor when he visited Standiland Academy to donate funds to their breakfast club.
Coun Bob McAuley went along to the Boston school to hand over £500 from the county council’s Big Society Fund.
But following the presentation, he was persuaded to help pupils with a parachute game.
The county and borough councillor was asked to help waft the parachute into the air for excited children to dive under as part of a pupils’ name game.
The activity was rather apt - as the school says it will use the money to provide more games and activities for children who attend the early-morning drop-off.
Coun McAuley said: “It was very gratifying to see the children enjoying their breakfast, being so well cared for and so well behaved - a real credit to the staff.”
The breakfast club has been running for two years and caters for children whose parents need to get to work before school starts. The youngsters attend from 8am, have a choice of healthy breakfasts then play indoor and outdoor games until lessons begin.
