A group of Boston schools is adding a new primary in Spalding to its growing federation after receiving government approval.
The Secretary of State has confirmed the appointment of the Boston Witham Academies Federation – led by Adrian Reed – as the approved operator for a new school planned for Wygate Park in Spalding.
The Wygate Park Academy is set to open in September 2014, initially with a reception class only, offering up to 30 places.
Coun Patricia Bradwell, executive councillor for Children’s Services at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “Now that the Secretary of State has confirmed our preferred sponsor for the school we can look forward to working with them on the school offer for parents and help meet the demand on school places for local children.
“Being a Lincolnshire operator we already know Boston Witham Academies Federation very well from their excellent work at the academies in Boston, including the ‘Outstanding’ Staniland Academy.”
The academy will be built on a site provided by Kier Homes in partnership with South Holland District Council and a substantial part of the funding will come from Kier Homes and local housing developments.
