Unusual takes on Nativity story

Waiting for Video...

Youngsters have been donning their drama hats to perform in their Christmas plays - with many offering a more unusual take on the traditional Nativity story.

While Swineshead Primary School delighted parents with the Nativity scene and Bicker told the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk and the Inkeeper’s Breakfast, Wrangle pupils’ play was out of this world, with a show titled Christmas with Aliens.

Wrangle head teacher Caroline Lister said: “The children told the story of aliens whose spaceship had broken down at the time of the first Christmas. The aliens enjoyed learning about the birth of the very special baby but were very pleased when their spaceship was mended and they could return home – with lots to tell their alien friends.”
