Boston College’s GCSE pupils have celebrated a 98 per cent pass rate in English and 95 per cent pass rate in Maths.
College pupils Craig Yaxley, 28, and Megan Lill, 22, were particularly proud of their results which mean they can now go on to secure places in further education.
Craig said: “I’m really happy I achieved a C in GCSE English as I needed the grade to secure my place at Nottingham Trent University to study Law in September. After working abroad for 2 years I decided to return to education and gain a degree as I was looking for a challenge. Starting the course was a little daunting but I’ve met some friends for life.
Megan said: “The C that I have achieved in GCSE Maths at Boston College is essential in the first step towards my future career – as I have now secured my place at Aberystwyth University to study Psychology in September.
“After working in an admin role with the mental health industry, I decided I wanted to move to the care side, and without Boston College this couldn’t have been possible.
“I enrolled on the College’s Access to Social Science, and I really enjoyed the experience. It was completely different to school and I felt like I received the support I miss out on at school.”
