YOUNG people at the John Fielding Community Special School have received an award for their environmental work.

Students at the Ashlawn Drive school received the Lincolnshire Young Environmentalist Award in the county’s Wildlife Trust Lincolnshire Environmental Awards for their work in growing organic vegatables to eat or sell, creating a greenhouse made out of recycled plastic bottles at Freiston Education Centre, and another at Boston College and building bug palaces at various venues.

They were presented with the award by botanist Sir David Bellamy at a ceremony in Lincoln on Wednesday.
