New programme is making a real ‘splash’

A NEW swimming programme has been making a splash at The Boston Witham Schools Federation.

The federation – Haven High, Staniland and Carlton Road primary schools – has witnessed a major expansion of its swimming programme – in a partnership move with Boston Borough Council and The Boston Amateur Swimming Club.

The re-opened pool will also be enjoyed by 25 local schools in the borough over 37 weekly swimming sessions this academic year.

Executive head teacher Adrian Reed said: “I am delighted with the immediate success of this new partnership approach – this wonderful facility, in the heart of the town, has been brought back to life through strategic partners working together to raise achievement for all.”

Pupils and students from the three schools of the federation have use of the pool during term time and have already identified ‘gifted’ swimmers who have joined elite squads with specialist coaching after school.
