THE spirit of the 2012 London Olympic Games is coming to Boston with a huge inter-school sports cometition.

The Games will feature 17 secondary schools from South Lincolnshire going head-to-head in a series of Olympic-inspired events.

It is being hosted by Boston College – and the grand final will take place at the Princess Royal Sports Arena on March 29, from 10am-3pm.

Pupils will compete for individual titles but also for their school.

“Boston College sports students have been running heats for the grand final to determine the top two girls and boys from each school since November last year,” said Paula Morley, the college’s marketing assistant. “Students that have qualified for the final will be competing for the title of The Games Grand Champion.”

Commonwealth Games gold medallist boxer Callum Johnnson will be lending his support to the event, along with school teachers and Boston College coaches.

To recreate the Olympic atmosphere, an opening ceremony will be provided by the college’s Performing Arts Students at the beginning of the event.
