Park School of inspiration

PARK School children have learnt about inspirational Lincolnshire figures after a visit from the Knight School.

Gary Brown and Bob Willis of the school’s ‘School of Inspiration’ gave a talk to the pupils about inspirational Lincolnshire people who became successful as a result of hard work and determination.

Each child was given a copy of the book Lincolnshire Heroes and the school was presented with banners of 15 significant figures who throughout history have helped to shape the world in which we live today.

The visit was made possible thanks to funding from Witham East Neighbourhood Action Group Placecheck.

Former police sergeant Mr Brown founded the Spilsby-based Knight School in 2003 to introduce behaviour courses based on the chivalric values of the Round Table Knights.

He said: “We are continuing to work with Park School after receiving Placecheck funding. This has enabled us to provide resources to the school that can be used for many years to come and has allowed the children to access educational opportunities outside school that otherwise would not have been possible.

“The project is in its early stages but we are most encouraged by the commitment of the school, parents and the pupils and looking forward to the year ahead.’
