PUPILS from Boston West Primary School held their latest school council meeting in Boston Borough Council’s chamber.

Mayor of Boston Coun Mary Wright officiated as school ‘councillors’ debated topics such as activities with the school’s twin in Gambia and issues on use of the tuck shop.

Thirty youngsters responded to the Mayor with suggestions for improved communication with the New Yundum School in Gambia, including possibly sending greetings at Christmas, a Power Point message, pictures and even gifts of games.

A debate ensued when there was a difference of opinion over how the school tuck shop should be run.

Mayor’s officer Andy Lamming gave the children a view of the council’s regalia and an interesting and humorous talk about the borough’s history.

On Wednesday, children also saw their artwork which has been on display in the Municipal Buildings during the summer holiday and had refreshments.
