HEALTHY hearts are as important as healthy minds for youngsters at Sutterton Fourfields Primary School.
Staff and pupils at the school, in Park Avenue, are preparing to ‘go red’ on Friday to support a British Heart Foundation (BHF) campaign.
“We are raising money to support Red for Heart, the BHF’s fundraising campaign which encourages people across the UK to think about their hearts and raise money to save lives,” said head of school Carol Hayat.
“We are all looking forward to wearing red on Friday and encourage other people in Sutterton to join us.”
The campaign is part of National Heart Month and Fourfields School has been holding healthy heart activities throughout February, raising awareness of heart health through healthy eating.
The month will end with a Wear Red for Heart day on Friday for staff and pupils.
The BHF says that more than 2.7 million people in the UK currently suffer with heart disease.
Helena Mair, BHF fundraising volunteer manager in Lincolnshire, said: “National Heart Month is an important time for all of us to think about our own hearts and of those around us.
“Our Red for Heart campaign is our way of raising money to continue saving lives.”
She added: “Thanks to all the staff and pupils for going Red for Heart to help us with our important work.”
