Two students suspended after Boston College fire alarm

Two students have been suspended from Boston College after smoke set off alarms in the catering department.

As reported last week students and staff were evacuated at Boston College after the small fire in the changing rooms of the catering department at 12.46pm on Friday, January 31. The incident was not started maliciously.

A police spokesman said two students, aged 16 and 17, from Boston and Spilsby, had been identified as being responsible and had been spoken to by staff.

They said: “They were suspended by staff who wished it to be dealt with by restorative justice.”

A Boston College spokesman confirmed staff are dealing with the matter internally.
