Hosepipe ban to come into force in April

HOUSEHOLDS in Boston will be subject to a hosepipe ban from April 5 as the area continues to be hit by a drought.

Anglian Water says that the region has suffered the driest 18-month period in more than a century and will introduce the temporary ban before the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

Peter Simpson, Anglian Water managing director, said: “This is the first time Anglian Water has imposed a hosepipe ban in more than 20 years, but we believe this is the most sensible and responsible action to take to help safeguard customer supplies for this year, next year and beyond.”
