Workmen install solar panels on snow-covered leisure centre roof
Boston Borough Council workmen began fitting solar panels to the roof ogf the Geoff Moulder leisure centre in the bad weather.
IT IS often said that Britain grinds to a halt whenever we have a few flakes of snow – but that was certainly not the case for these workmen.
Just days before the heavy snow fell they were wrapped up against the bitter chill and the biting winds while fitting new £105,167 solar panels on the roof of the Geoff Moulder Leisure Complex.
The new panels have been fitted in a bid to generate low-carbon electricity for the centre and cut down on power bills for the Boston Borough Council-owned facility.
It is part of a package of energy-saving improvements at the leisure centre, which has also seen new energy-efficient lighting, pool covers and double-glazing.
