Specialist fire and rescue animal crews have helped to rescue a trapped horse in Boston.
The horse was trapped in a horsebox in Horncastle Road yesterday.
The crews used hydraulic cutting equipment and a saw to successfully release the animal.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: “It was a large horse trapped in a horsebox which had managed to jump over the partition in the box.
“The metal bar got trapped under its stomach which then had to be cut out by the crews.
“The horse was sedated by a vet before Fire and Rescue arrived, allowing the crews to cut away the metal bar. It took 45 minutes overall to free the horse and it managed to walk out of the horsebox calm and relaxed after the incident.”
