Getting the band back together

Members of the original Salvation Army young people’s band in Boston are to meet again after more than 50 years.

A special reunion is being held at the charity’s headquarters in High Street, Boston, next month.

The informal gathering has been organised to celebrate the 100th birthday of Jack Webb, of Boston.

Mr Webb was one of the original members of the band, which formed around 1959. Since then he has been a familiar face in town, regularly distributing the Salvation Army magazine in Strait Bargate, even to this day.

The event, on November 10, from 7pm, includes a food buffet and memories about the band. For more details call 07710 409930.
