Three brave Boston women each have gone that extra mile with hair-raising feats to raise thousands for Cancer Research UK.

The activites took place at The Eagle pub in West Street, with two women enduring a sponsored head shave and a third returning to the pub after an arduous 300 mile walk.

Mel Riches and Vicky Duck gave up their locks, while Linda Beauchamp walked 300 miles from Dorset over the course of several days.

Two men at the pub also had their beards, eyesbrows and heads shaved and waxed – and a raffle was held.

“It was brilliant day,” said Mel.

“And the support from members of the public and the businesses who donated raffle prizes was fantastic.”

Money is still being counted but the day is expected to have raised between £3-4,000.
