SOME artists will go to the end of town and back to be successful - and performing next Friday is one of those bands.
Boston-based Townsend will be playing at the Axe and Cleaver, West Street, from 9.30pm on February 11.
It is a four-piece band who play a range of covers from rock and roll to modern hits, mod, punk and more.s
The band consists of Rick Hardy on guitar and vocals, Jason Twiddy on guitar, Matt Gardner on bass guitar and vocals and Adam Bell on drums.
The group have been playing together for more than three years now and over that time have been writing and performing their own tunes.
They said they draw their inspiration from artists including The Jam, Nirvana, Arctic Monkeys, Primal Scream and Kasabian.
All the members are from Boston and say they try to write their songs based on ‘past experiences and typical town life’.
They boast a sound made from: “A cocktail of fresh ideas and all the best bits from our favourite music and artists.”
They also have an album coming out this year which will include between eight and 11 of their own tunes and will be available online and in several shops around Boston.
Entry to the gig is free.
