A GROUP which helps grow produce for the community has just received a bumper harvest...a £450 donation.
Housing association Boston Mayflower gave the Community Champions Award to Thistles Market Garden to put towards buying gardening equipment.
Boston Mayflower’s community development officer Paul Kenny said: “We are pleased to be able to support this deserving and unique project which serves the Boston area.”
Thistles is part of the Boston Learning Disabilities Service and is run by Lincolnshire County Council.
The organisation, based in Sutterton, supports people with learning difficulties, showing them how to tend to plants.
It was selected for the grant after winning the votes of housing association’s tenants.
Mayflower’s PR and marketing officer Nathan Black said: “Our Community Champions Awards recognise contributions made by groups which provide help and activities for people.
“Boston Mayflower is very pleased to be able to give funding to help such groups’ operations.”
