The Butterfly Hospice is to finally open to in-patients after a vital funding deal was struck.
The announcement comes after NHS Lincolnshire East Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) invited providers to bid for the provision of six in-patient beds.
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, in partnership with the Butterfly Hospice Trust, was the successful bidder.
From this summer, patients in the Boston and surrounding areas living with life-limiting illnesses will have access to palliative inpatient beds at the hospice, in Rowan Way, Boston.
The hospice project first began at a public meeting in 2000 - with the local community working hard to fundraise for it in the last 14 years.
