PEOPLE who look after others with an alcohol or drug addiction can get support and advice at a free public event in Boston.
The substance misuse awareness afternoon, organised by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, will take place between on Tuesday, 2-5pm, in the Boston Conference and Management Centre, Skirbeck Road.
Substance misuse team leader, Nige Dixon, said: “Parents and carers play a vital role, but often struggle to cope with the emotional distress of a loved one’s addiction and related behaviour.
“Often these carers have health problems of their own, but they are so busy caring for someone else, they put their own health needs second.”
Information, support and guidance about substance misuse will be available from specialist clinicians and representatives from the Trust.
Trust governors will also be at the event to speak to members of the public about other mental health services provided locally by the Trust and to assist with any specific service issues.
