Baby remembrance service for families

PARENTS and families who have lost a baby are being invited to a special remembrance service this weekend. The annual service, which takes place in the chapel at Pilgrim Hospital, will be held at 2pm on Sunday, January 29.

Families who have lost a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or whose baby has died around the time of birth are invited to the event.

There will be an opportunity to light a candle during the service and to have their baby’s name read out. It will also be a chance to meet other parents afterwards.

The Rev Christine Bonneywell, hospital chaplain at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “We hold this service every year and we know how much it means to the parents to have the life of their baby recognised, however brief that life was. Whether the loss was in the past year or 10 years everyone is welcome to join us.”
