Sharing the secrets of slimming success

Abi Carter, 25, now a consultant for Slimming World, is opening a new group for the UK-wide slimming organisation in the village.

It comes just six months after Abi took over the running of the Slimming World’s Kirton group, having been a member of it herself.

In that time, membership of the group had grown to more than 100 – earning Abi a Silver Award.

On the back of this success, Abi is launching a Slimming World group in Swineshead this evening.

Abi’s weight-loss story began in Australia, where she lost three stone during a stay there between September, 2013, and July, 2014.

This included a spell working on a banana farm near Cairns, in North Queensland.

“It was very hard work,” she said. “It got me more active, definitely.”

Abi says when she returned to the UK she knew she had to do something to keep the weight off. She went further still, however, losing three stone more with Slimming World.

She would go on to take on the running of the Kirton group in January, graduating as a consultant in May.

“I love it,” she said of her Slimming World consultant role. “It is so rewarding, the best job I have ever done.”

The group meets on Wednesdays at Swineshead Village Hall, at 7.30pm.
