Chantilly “Tilly” Milverton (20) of Boston set herself the target of completing 16 endurance events in 2016 to raise money for Keep The Beat, a charity which supports families affected by the diagnosis of heart defects at birth.

Almost £600 has been raised so far by Chantilly, a laboratory analyst in Frampton Fen, after nine events which included the Deepings Rotary 10k Run on Sunday and a charity football day in memory of her cousin Greg Mustill hosted by Boston United Foootball Club nine days ago.

Chantilly said: “Greg and I were cousins and we used to go to football matches together at Wyberton and Fishtoft.

“But we also both had heart conditions so we understood each other and this made the football day really emotional after Greg died, at the age of 33, last December.

“The day itself was very well-organised, with a raffle and a big auction which raised about £10,000 for Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, where Greg was treated.”

After four events in as many weeks, Chantilly now has a six-week break before the tenth event on her to-do list, the Spalding Sprint Triathlon on Sunday, July 10.

Chantilly said: “In doing this challenge, I wanted to support local events as and when I can.

“The Deepings run felt tough as it was my fourth consecutive event and it was hot too.

“Nevertheless, I just got on with it and it was a well-organised event.

“I’m amazed to have raised £590 with seven months of 2016 left but, so far, the 16 in 16 for Keep The Beat is going well.

“It’s heading in the right direction so I’d really like to hit the £1,000 target for Keep The Beat which can really do a lot with the money.”
