Cancer patients in Boston are benefiting from a generous donation.

More than £2,100 has been raised for the chemotherapy suite at Pilgrim Hospital thanks to an Ascot-style Ladies Day.

The event took place at St Nicholas House in Deeping St Nicholas and saw guests treated to a champagne reception and lunch.

Sister Mandy Dawson, from the chemotherapy suite, said: “We’re extremely grateful to everyone who attended this event for their generous donations and fantastic fundraising efforts. The money raised will go towards the purchase of an ECG machine and will help to further improve the care we give to our patients.”

Fundraiser Doreen Davies said: “Following the excellent care and support our friend Anthony received at the chemotherapy suite we decided to hold an event to raise some money and give something back. The money donated on the day exceeded all expectations and we would like to say a special thank you to everyone who supported this event and helped raise money for such an important piece of equipment.”
