ELDERLY people in the Boston area may soon benefit from a new day care facility, after plans were submitted for a new centre in the town.
The owners of Ridlington’s Wine Merchants, off Sibsey Road in Boston, have applied to Boston Borough Council for planning permission to change their premises into Ridlington’s Day Centre, in a bid to provide facilities for elderly people.
If it is approved by planners at the authority, the centre will provide recreational amenities and a rehabilitation centre, and facilities for cooking, washing and doing laundry.
Another planning application which has been submitted to the council recently is to expand the number of caravans at Staples Vegetables in Wrangel.
The company wants to increase the number of caravans on its site from 41 to 63, so that it can provide temporary housing for more seasonal workers on its expanding land operation.
The application also involves moving the recreational land on the site.
In the application, the company states that providing caravans means it has to employ fewer staff employed through gand labour from agencies.
