Tooth Booth is town’s new ‘asset’

‘A HUGE asset to the local community’ is how a new dental practice in Boston was described during its official opening event last Thursday.

The Tooth Booth, in Wide Bargate, is being hailed as the first in the borough, and only one of six in the county, to offer weekend and evening appointments along with same day urgent dental treatment.

People from the local community were invited to look around the surgery on the day, meet the team and register as a patient.

Cutting the ribbon was Boston’s deputy mayor Coun Gerry Clare with wife Pam.

“This is a massive step forward in dental health care for residents of Boston borough,” said Coun Clare.

“To have urgent dental problems seen to on the same day makes The Tooth Booth a huge asset to the local community.”

The NHS dental practice opened its doors to patients in November offering ‘a new kind of dental service’ with more flexibility and better choice.

Practice manager Sara Glover, said: “This is an exciting day for the team as we are the first service in Boston to offer such flexible hours.

“Our practice is open at evenings and weekends and we also offer same day assessment for urgent treatment to walk-in patients.

Di Pegg, head of contracting for NHS Lincolnshire said the trust is ‘committed to improving dental care for people living in the county’.

* Tooth Booth is open Tuesdays and Fridays, 8am-8pm, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8am-6.30pm, Saturdays 8.30am-3pm and alternative Sundays, 9am-12.30pm.
