BOSTON residents are being urged to surrender their old toothbrushes for an ‘amnesty’ as part of an NHS health drive.
The toothbrush amnesty has been organised at Boston Health Shop in Strait Bargate today as part of National Smile Month.
The event will be run by the oral health promotion team for the Special Care Dental Service (SCDS) at Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS).
The team are offering visitors the chance to find out if their toothbrush is still up to the job from 10am until 2pm. If it’s not they get a brand new one to take home.
Gina Hargrave, oral health promoter at LCHS, said: “We’re armed and ready for our next amnesty in Boston.
“National Smile Month is the perfect opportunity to take a closer look at your oral health and it can even be done while you’re out doing your shopping.”
Stickers will also be handed out on the day.
