A police helicopter helped in the arrest of three men suspected of hare coursing yesterday.

At 11.26am police were alerted to a Subaru Legacy vehicle in the Quadring Fen area.

After failing to stop for police, it is believed the vehicle entered Leicestershire before being stopped by officers in Northamptonshire.

A helicopter assisted the search.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of hare coursing and failing to stop.

Lincolnshire Police set up Operation Galileo in 2012 to crack down on hare coursers.

Any individual who enters the county to pursue hare coursing will face immediate arrest, have their vehicles and dogs seized and face a court appearance. This could further result in seized vehicles being disposed of, individuals being banned from driving and also receiving a tough fine.

Anyone with information about this is urged to call police by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 166 of February 12.
