FIVE punk rock bands are coming to town on Saturday to help one of Boston’s home-grown charity events in support of homeless children.
The third Punk 4 The Homeless gig in aid of Casa Alianza, the street children’s charity, will take place at the Centenary Methodist Church, Red Lion Street, from 6pm.
The five bands are Leather Zoo, Mediatrocity, Born to Destruct, Radiating Eyes and We Are Revival.
Leather Zoo, from Sheffield, were formed in May 2004 and have, over the last four years, toured extensively in Europe including Berlin.
Their track Fairy Punk Princess went on to become number one on Germany-based download sites.
Two of their tracks Belliss Coldwine and Stranger have appeared in the Pillay-Evans film Tattoos: A Scarred History.
They have also been played on a number of radio stations.
Mediatrocity boast a lethal mix of ska, punk and death metal and have performed all over the UK supporting bands including Sammy’s Fatal Mistake, ICH, The Infested and Officer Down.
Born to Destruct arrived on the scene in 2007 with band member Woodstock, returning after a 10-year absence where he promoted and supported bands rather than played.
They have produced two albums already and have a third available now.
They boast a ‘love of fun and a passion for punk and all the good people in it’.
Radiating Eyes was formed by a group of 13-year-olds in 2007 and four years later they boast a reputation for intense live performances and being hated by their local venue.
Starting out as garage punk their music has evolved over the years into a heavy hardcore sound which maintains a love for 80s American hardcore bands like Black Flag, Minor Threat and Bad Brains.
Their EP Gravelines is available on iTunes and Spotify.
Coventry-based We Are Revival are a band who, as the name suggests, say they want to revive their home city and any venue they play.
Only in their first year, they draw influences from a broad spectrum of artists such as Underoath, Isis, Muse, La Distpute and have played all over the UK.
There is a suggested donation of £5 to enter the show.
