LOST loved ones are to be honoured at an event in Boston.
St Barnabas Boston Hospice holds its annual Light Up A Life service at the Centenary Methodist Church, in Red Lion Street, on Thursday, December 16, from 6.30pm.
Visitors will have the chance to light a candle in memory of those now departed.
The service is uplifting, with carols sung by St Thomas’ CofE Primary Choir, a vocal soloist and a number of readings.
Afterwards, everyone is invited to join hospice staff and volunteers for hot drinks and mince pies in the church hall.
Barbara Pickwell, of Boston, has been a volunteer at the St Barnabas Day Hospice, in Green Lane, Boston, for more than 15 years.
“I have been attending the Boston Light Up A Life service for the past nine years.
“They give me a sense of peace and a time to reflect on the loved ones I have lost.
“It is a lovely and uplifting way to remember them each year in the company of many others who are in the same situation.”
Money raised from the event will help fund the hospice’s palliative care in Boston.
