An event at Savannah Equestrian Centre has raised more than £600 for the Children’s Ward at Pilgrim Hospital.

The recent event involved children taking part in horse-riding and grooming as well as gymkhana games.

Omar Nasher, organiser of the event and Junior Doctor at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston said: “The event was a great success and we are extremely grateful to everyone who attended the event and donated money to help benefit our Children’s Ward.

“All the donations we receive make such a huge difference to the care we can provide and help to improve the overall hospital experience of the children we see.

“I would particularly like to thank Mandy Mather, director of Savannah Equestrian Centre, for hosting the event, as well as ON24 Web Design and the Mill for their donations and all the fantastic helpers and sponsors who supported such an important event for the Children’s Ward at Pilgrim Hospital. Without them this event could have not happened”.

The money raised will be used to refurbish the Children’s Outpatient Clinic at Pilgrim Hospital which has just been moved to a new location within the hospital.

The redevelopment will include purchasing new soft play equipment for the children’s waiting room and creating a child-friendly and fun environment within the department.
