The Butterfly Hospice in Boston has received £879 from The Freemasons’ Grand Charity.
Laura Slayven, Butterfly Hospice fundraising manager, said: “Although we received some funding from the NHS, the majority of our funds come from the generous support of the people in our community. “Without their continued support and fundraising we are not able to provide our care free of cost to patients and their families.”
The hospice in Rowan Way, which is run in partnership with Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, needs to raise £9,000 a month to continue operating.
Graham Ives, the Provincial Grand Master of Lincolnshire, said: “We believe it is essential to support the exceptional care provided by our local hospices. Financial help is fundamental to ensuring these services can continue. The hospices’ incredible contribution to the community is valued highly here in Lincolnshire and that is why we are so happy to donate this amount.”
