AN APPLICATION which was condemned by planners as a step towards the ‘slums of the future’ is back before the board later today.
Boston borough councillors said the application by Lindum was overintensive and over-bearing when they refused it in December, but the company has now tweaked the plans in the hope they will be more acceptable.
The number of houses has been reduced by two, the amount of parking spaces has been increased, and the height of some of the properties has been altered, among other things, in a bid to make it acceptable this time around. The amount of affordable housing on the site, on land at the back of Tytton Lane East, in Wyberton, has also been reduced.
But despite the chances, the council has still received a number of objections from members of the public living near the site. A total of 21 objection letters were received, along with a petition signed by 253 people.
