A group of 18 travelled from Boston to take part in this year’s Humber Bridge walk for Christian Aid.

Christian Aid local co-ordinator Brian Newton said: “The youngest walker this year was just six - while the oldest was 92. We also had a champion walker with us, ‘Mac’ McDonald, who took part again this year despite not long having had a double heart bypass. He’s one of our biggest fundraisers so we’re hugely grateful to him.”
The money raised during the walk is still being collected. People from the Boston area have been taking part in the 2.2km Humber Bridge walk for 14 years as a prelude to Christian Aid Week which began on Sunday.
“It’s during this week where we do house-to-house collections and we become pests again knocking on doors in town,” Mr Newton joked. He added that this year they will be armed with several multi-lingual cards detailing the work of Christian Aid.
