Teams of players were tested by the fairways and greens of Boston West Golf Club during the 14th Katie Clarke Memorial Fund Charity Golf Day this summer.

About £2,000 was raised towards research into brain tumours which Katie was diagnosed with twice in five years before her death in June 2000, aged 24.

Katie’s parents, Fred and Margaret Clarke of Kirton, said: “We would like to thank Boston West Golf Club for hosting this event and the teams of golfers who took part.

“We would also like to thank the caterers, bar and office staff, raffle ticket sellers and everyone who donated towards the raffle, all of whom worked hard to make the day a success.”
