A LATVIAN Festival is being held in Boston on Saturday to mark Midsummer, a national holiday in the Eastern European country.
The event, at the Princess Royal Sports Arena in Great Fen Road, features a market, folk band, children’s games, bouncy castle and Latvian school choir from noon.
There will be a children’s disco from 6pm and a bonfire lit at 7.30pm before the main party begins at 8pm, featuring groups and DJs flying in from Latvia to perform on the night.
Organiser Ziebonis ‘Zee’ Barbaks said: “We held one last year and it was quite good, we had about 850 to 900 people there. This year looks like being even bigger.”
He said tickets have been sold to people from London, Hull and Manchester as well as this area and there will also be a pre-festival party at the venue on Friday for people travelling in to Boston.
Tickets cost £15 in advance, £18 on the day or £3 for six to 14-year-olds.
