Letter: Park should create new employment
UNFORTUNATELY Lincolnshire County Council is considering placing a waste transfer station on the industrial estate on Wash Road in Kirton.
Included on this site would be a large scale building and this proposal would not bring any benefits to the village only great concerns regarding the increase in HGV vehicles, smells and noise.
This is a new industrial park and we would rather see business coming to create employment which also brings other benefits to the village.
Recently we visited a waste transfer station in Louth. This was situated on an industrial estate but with no schools or private housing close by.
There was a smell from the building, so we believe the obvious choice would be to put this building on Marsh Road, Slippery Gowt, Boston, as this is already a waste management area and would not cause any inconvenience to anyone.
We would like to thank Boston Borough Council and adjoining parish councils for their support regarding our concerns.
Kirton Parish Council is planning an open public meeting at the Town Hall on August 24 at 5.30pm so that the residents can give us their views on this issue.
