LETTER: Pothole fix is solely to win votes

About two weeks ago a county councillor said they were taking money out of the reserves to pay for filling in our potholes and road services.
I have regularly phoned the county and borough councils regarding the potholes and road conditions in particular on Fishtoft Road, Royal Way and Church Green Road (I have five reference numbers which they give when you ring them - the first is from January 5).
I was told the emergency ones would be done the next week. Some were done but several were not and still have not been done.
But not, they say they are taking money out of their reserves (money from the taxpayer).
Could they be using it now because there is an election on May 2, and they hope it will help the Conservatives keep control of the council?
On May 2 please vote for me because I can assure you I shall go to meetings as your representative and vote for what I think is right for you.
