Letter: roadside selling on the High Street - 30/06/10

FURTHER to my letter last year regarding the number of vehicles for sale on the High Street near the Total garage and the council's response by placing notices on the offending cars – it seems that the 'gesture' was short lived.

On the weekends I have counted between eight and 13 cars for sale on the roadside, with details and contact numbers clearly displayed in their windows.

The practice of roadside selling is a recent phenomenon and was warned against in a Watchdog programme last year.
