Politics is put before the town

Having spent a few days away and returning in beautiful weather, imagine our disgust upon our approach to Boston when encountering the stench of the sewage works at Wyberton, followed by the pollution by creosote as we drove past the timber yards.

We decided to call at Asda for some bread and milk where we immediately encountered about six staff and police in the process of arresting a rather arrogant looking youth. We progressed to where a member of staff was on her knees, apparently reducing produce to 'give away' prices – this was of course privy to about a dozen 'guest workers' who were hogging it all for themselves.

Inevitably, a disturbance broke out between them as one dived for an item of which another already had a basket full. God knows what one does with about twenty tubs of Onion and Chive Cottage Cheese and about 200 Frankfurter Sausages other than start a fight!

We did indeed get our bread and milk in the Sunday afternoon mayhem of Asda and proceeded home, over the open sewer we lovingly call the Haven, the traffic was surprisingly light. Once again, as soon as we reached the open areas, instead of being greeted with fresh air and sunshine, we were inundated by flies and the stench of rotting vegetables.

To many, I probably sound ungracious towards our town and what it has become and they would say, so why don't you move away? My answer is simple, I was born here, I have served my country and this is my town and I don't like the way it is being allowed to be turned into a stinking ghetto by our glorious leaders in council.

We seem to have elected ourselves a group of fools that put party political issues before the interests of the town and once again, allow it to be run on minority interests.
