Water feature would enhance Market Place

With reference to the consultation in respect of the Market Place there is one option that has not been widely considered and that is for a water feature with seating in an attractive pedestrian area.

Boston has a water related natural environment and heritage and yet this obvious asset is under exploited, although things are clearly improving.

What better way to reference this heritage than to have a unique and suitable water feature in the town centre as the centrepiece of a pedestrian friendly area. It would of course also be necessary to ensure the successful continuation of the market and car parking availability.

We are often told that retail beings in "footfall" i.e. consumers, however it is our belief that people come to town to experience something different when most towns offer a similar range of shops.

In addition to this Boston's Fish Hill toilets could do with a full refurbishment. Together these improvements will in our opinion attract more people to town, particularly on warm days and will also attract visitors from outside the area who may come again having not had to endure the delights of the Fish Hill toilets in their current state.
